Come detto, 30 Rock ottiene 22 candidature, il record per una comedy series. Mad Men è il dramma più nominato (ma ben lontano dal record di NYPD Blue con 27 nominations nel 1994).
La HBO sembra destinata a farla ancora da padrona nella categoria tv movie, quest'anno con Grey Gardens che ottiene 17 nominations (eguagliando il record di candidature in un anno per film tv).
Family Guy diventa la seconda serie animata (dopo i Flintstones nel 1961) nella storia del premio ad essere nominata come best comedy.
Big Love prende una sola nomination....ma nella categoria più importante: miglior dramma!
I veterani...Alan Alda (guest star in 30 Rock raggiunge la sua 33esima nominations (6 vittorie). Carol Burnett (nominata come guest star in L&O SVU) ottiene la 23esima nomination della sua carriera (ha vinto 6 volte). Betty White raccoglie la sua 15esima candidatura.
La rete che ha raccolto più nominations è la HBO con 99 candidature. Seguono NBC (67), ABC (55), CBS (49), FOX (42), Showtime (29), PBS (26), AMC (23).
Infine, segnaliamo che il Coco Chanel coprodotto dalla Rai ottiene due candidature: miglior film tv e migliore attrice per Shirley MacLeine.
